Position Title: Assistant Store Manager
Location: Mandeville

Reports to: Store Manager
This Position is in Mandeville
POSITION PURPOSE:
To assist with store operations including purchasing, merchandising, department supervision, while ensuring customer satisfaction and increasing staff efficiency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:
PURCHASING:
Ensure items are purchased for various departments to include: -
Cosmetics
Personal care
Hair care and accessories
Baby
Household Care
Monitor and maintain current inventory levels and conduct stock reconciliation
Ensure accuracy of rewards listing and confirm stock levels for all goods on promotion
Assist in the inventory management of products on a monthly basis
Assist in stock taking and inventory management
SCHEDULING:
Oversee the scheduling of staff members within the Cosmetics Dept. and on the general floor.
MERCHANDISING:
Monitor the displaying and packing of goods
Highlight new goods
Rearrange goods for optimum floor placement when needed
Monitor rewards products on promotion
CASHIER:
Assist cashiers at the opening of business by unlocking of the cash registers, point of sale machines, phone card machines
Check off of cashiers in all departments as required.
Monitor front cashier, ensuring change is provided to them for smooth customer processing
Oversee all cashier activities (operations, float and check-off)
Ensure good customer service is maintained at all times.
GENERAL DUTIES:
Assist with marketing initiatives both in-store and externally.
Assist with the opening and closing of the store on assigned mornings or when needed.
On Sundays, opening of the store and ensuring that the assigned persons are on duties.
Oversee all activities in the store
Oversee customer service between staff and customers to ensure customer satisfaction
Manage and resolve all customer challenges
Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards and policies
Resolve customer’s complaints and communicate their request
Assist with the training of cashiers and sales associate
Motivating and keeping staff morale at the highest levels thus maximizing customer’s in-store experience
Ensure all staff has arrived to cover shift and reassigning if so required
Facilitate deletes, voids, re-printing of receipts, discount and exchanges at the cash register
Assist in the pricing department when there is an overflow, also filling in for supervisors during their absence
Assist with HR. procedures such as:
*Monitor attendance and lateness
*Staff donation and condolence packages
*Staff birthday greeting cards / gift certificates
Ensure customers have exited store at closing time and that staff security procedures are followed
Perform any other reasonable duty as requested.
EXPERIENCE; EDUCATION OR CERTIFICATION
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies
A minimum Associate degree
Certificate in Supervisory Management
Customer Service trained & certified
3-5 years’ work experience in Management or at a Supervisory level
Knowledge of the retail environment
Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate (verbal, listening, writing) and manage well at all levels of the organization
