Job Summary:
The Security Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of physical security across the company’s stores and Head Office. This role serves as the primary point of contact for external security service providers, ensuring contractual compliance and operational efficiency. The Security Manager maintains up-to-date risk assessments for all locations, oversees security equipment logs, and ensures that security standards are consistently applied. Additionally, the role provides ad hoc training, responds to incidents, and identifies risk gaps to minimize loss and operational risks.
Key Responsibilities:
Security Operations & Vendor Management:
- Act as the main liaison with external security companies, ensuring service delivery meets contractual obligations and company standards.
- Oversee third-party security work, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives and budgetary constraints.
Risk Assessment & Compliance:
- Maintain current risk assessments for all stores and Head Office, updating regularly based on operational changes.
- Identify potential security vulnerabilities and propose mitigation strategies to reduce risk and loss
Equipment & Asset Management:
- Maintain a comprehensive log of all security equipment, ensuring functionality and timely maintenance.
- Coordinate with the Technical Security Officer to manage installations, repairs, and upgrades efficiently.
Incident Response & Investigation:
- Respond promptly to security incidents, conducting investigations and reporting findings to senior management.
- Recommend corrective actions and preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
Training & Standards Enforcement:
- Provide ad hoc security training to store teams and relevant personnel.
- Ensure compliance with company security standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in security management, Risk Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 5 years of experience in security operations, preferably in retail or multi-site environments.
- Strong knowledge of security systems, risk assessment methodologies, and incident management.
- Experience managing third-party vendors and budgets.
