Job Summary:
The Relief Sales Representative has responsibility to service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors, whilst ensuing receivables and all credit related activities are in sync with company mandates.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain working relationships with existing clients to ensure exceptional service and identification of potential new sales opportunities
- Identify appropriate prospects, set appointments, make effective qualifying sales calls, and manage sales cycle to close new business in all service categories offered
- Possess in-depth product knowledge and be able to conduct demos and relay objection-handling
- Manage and reduce waste due to expired, damaged and product returns from trade in keeping with targets
- Prepare professional, complete, concise and accurate reports, proposals, booking packages, and other documentation as required for sales presentations
- Achieve sales goals by assessing current client needs and following a defined selling process with potential buyers, often utilizing product demos and presentations (ex of selling tool - Activity Based Selling)
- Coordinate with other Sales Representatives, truckers and all other departments to achieve company quotas and standards
- Perform market research and regular competitor monitoring
- Liaise with the Credit Department to facilitate the collection, reconciliation and balance of receivables
- Adhere to and execute effectively and efficiently all credit related matters as per Credit Department manual and terms of reference
- Any other duties as may be assigned within the scope of the job
Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum five (5) CSEC passes or any equivalent secondary level qualifications with at least 3 -5 years’ experience within an FMCG environment
- Computer literate with high proficiency in using sales management software and CRM is an asset
- Personal integrity, results-driven with strong negotiation and listening skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, and organizational skills
- Proven success rate at levels above quotas
- Ability to balance persuasion with professionalism
- Strong analytical, planning organizational, and negotiation skills
