The role of our Chef De Cuisine
Our Chef De Cuisine/Sous Chef is expected to lead and inspire our kitchen staff in the creation of culinary masterpieces. The chef de cuisine will be responsible for designing the menu, hiring and training kitchen staff, collaborating with restaurant management, optimizing staff productivity, and stepping in to help wherever needed to ensure success. You should have excellent leadership skills with experience managing a team of kitchen staff in a high-pressure environment.
Key Qualifications and Experience
- 2 years related experience or Associate Degree in Culinary Arts
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of kitchen production and food service.
- Has the ability to make quick decisions in high stress situations.
- Displays excellent customer service skills.
- Pleasant and positive personality.
- Is well organized and manages time efficiently.
- Has the ability to listen effectively.
- Speaks, reads and writes English clearly to ascertain and document important information concisely and accurately.
- Follows written and or verbal instructions clearly and efficiently.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20-50 pounds on a consistent basis.
- Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Must have excellent guest and associate relations skills.
