KEY OUTPUTS
· GOJ policies/procedures and guidelines monitored and maintained
· Maintenance of accounting records
· Contractor/Client invoice for payment vetted

· Receivables reports prepared and submitted
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
· Checks the accuracy of payments requests by checking against Purchase Orders, Commitment Forms and other contractual arrangements before the documents are passed to the Senior Accountant
· Assist with the preparation of the monthly payroll and prepares the S01 schedule by consolidating both the monthly and weekly payrolls by the second day following the month-end for the monthly upload of the schedule to the Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) platform
· Prepares monthly bank reconciliations for both the J$ and US$ bank Accounts by the 8th working day following the month-end
· Preparation of Purchase Orders and Commitment Forms for the Accounting & Finance Department
· Assist with the collections of Receivables from tenants to ensure that payments are current
· Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
· Prepare GCT Returns by the 20th of the following month for upload to the TAJ platform
· Assist with the preparation of monthly journals from the Financial Controller’s desk and ensure the general ledger is updated for monthly Financial Reporting
· Assist with the preparation of yearly external Audit Schedules
· Researching accounting information to assist with answering queries
· Assist with answering correspondences for the Department
· Maintains a harmonious working environment
· Undertaking such other function as may be reasonably assigned by the Financial Controller

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE
· BSc. Financial Accounting, Financial Management, Management Studies, or its equivalent from a recognised institution; or
· Level 2 ACCA certification;
· Two (2) years’ working experience in an accounting environment.
