A financial institution is seeking a competent and experienced Branch Manager to lead branch operations, ensure strong financial performance, and deliver excellent member/customer service. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in operational management, staff supervision, risk control, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the branch to ensure efficiency and compliance
- Analyze and review branch performance to ensure targets are achieved
- Ensure adequate cash management and availability of operational resources
- Review daily transactions and prepare required reports for senior management and committees
- Provide financial counselling to customers/members as required
- Ensure effective risk management, internal controls, and regulatory compliance
- Monitor loan delinquency and conduct follow-ups to support loan recovery targets
- Sign cheques and authorize transactions in accordance with established limits
- Conduct branch meetings to keep staff informed and aligned
- Supervise, direct, coach, and develop branch staff
- Conduct performance appraisals and support staff development initiatives
- Assist with marketing initiatives and business development activities
- Interview customers/members and make recommendations to the credit committee
- Attend community and stakeholder engagements as required
- Conduct surprise cash counts and support special projects as assigned
Authority and Accountability
- Approve loans up to established limits
- Authorize transactions, vouchers, journal entries, and system overrides
- Approve staff appraisals and development plans
- Sign official financial and operational documents
Required Qualifications and Experience
- First degree in Business Administration or an equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory role within the financial services industry
Required Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of financial institution operational policies and procedures
- Sound understanding of financial products and services
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Knowledge of workflow processes and relevant computer applications
