Sales Associate
Role Summary
The purpose of the Sales Associate position is to maximize the purchasing potential of all customers assigned, promote and market all assigned products and , achieve the approved Sales budget.
Duties and Responsibilities Summary
- Secure customer orders through visits and telephone calls.
- Continually prospect and qualify new customers.
- Continually prospect new references from existing customers.
- Ensure complete customer satisfaction through follow-up calls.
- Deliver price quotations and new samples to existing and new customers within the time required.
- Forecast sales for each customer within assigned portfolio.
- Handle customer complaints and recommend specific action for resolving same.
- Provide lost business reports weekly.
- Submit weekly call planners and reports.
- Recommend plans for regaining lost and obtaining new business.
- Conduct all business transactions with high ethical standards consistent with the image of the company.
- Attain monthly and annual sales targets for assigned portfolios.
- Request the help of the manager in handling difficult problems.
- Check the status of each customer account prior to making calls – e.g. orders, complaints, samples, quotations, outstanding payments.
- Take all relevant information regarding customer requirements for new references, graphic changes, size changes, pricing, etc.
- Obtain all information and report on competitor activity.
- Liaise with assigned customer service buddy to ensure that our customers receive the highest standards of service.
- Perform any other specific functions, which may be required as directed by the Sales Manager.
Requirements
- At least three years’ experience in a sales/marketing environment.
- A minimum of five (5) “O” level passes (including no less than an “A” in English and a “B” in Math). Other tertiary level education will be an asset.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal & written.
- Outgoing, pleasant personality.
- Computer literate with a good working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Good analytical skills.
- Highly ethical with strong values.
- Achievement motivated with a strong will to win all challenges.
