Job Title: Senior Data Center Technical Consultant- Contract
Job Responsibilities
The consultant, will provide technical leadership and oversight to ensure that a Data Center is developed in alignment with international standards, local requirements, and emerging priorities, including Artificial Intelligence readiness, data sovereignty, and regional service delivery.
Responsibilities span the entire project lifecycle, from design validation to commissioning and knowledge transfer:
- Review and validate architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (AMEP) designs, climate resilience, and supplier contract specifications.
-Ensure the infrastructure meets technical specifications for redundancy, fault tolerance, energy efficiency, and concurrent maintainability, supporting mission-critical and AI-powered workloads.
- Evaluate the design’s suitability to the local and regional conditions (e.g., hurricane resistance, seismic stability, and climate adaptation), with a focus on long-term resilience and sustainability.
- Serve as the primary technical advisor for all physical infrastructure components throughout the project lifecycle.
- Advise on best practices and future-proofing strategies to ensure the data center supports AI, Big Data, and regional Data Embassy services.
-Guide the selection of high-quality, reliable, and energy-efficient equipment
-Assist the Procurement in the technical evaluation and selection of vendors for infrastructure components and services.
-Provide technical oversight during the installation and commissioning phases, ensuring compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
-Review, valuate and approve technical submissions from vendors and contractors.
- Assess test outcomes, identify issues, and provide technical recommendations for optimization and corrective actions.
-Identify infrastructure-related risks, including those impacting high-performance computing, AI workloads and failover and develop mitigation strategies to ensure reliability, continuity, and security.
-Support the development of operational protocols, disaster recovery playbooks, and maintenance manuals tailored to the high standards of the facility and inclusive of AI system integration.
-Conduct technical workshops and transfer knowledge
PROJECT DELIVERABLES
- Detailed aligned IT architecture designs and technical specifications for all IT systems, including provisions for AI workloads, Big Data processing, high-availability configurations, and integration with relevant parties.
-Evaluative reports and recommendations for IT hardware, software, and cloud service
providers, with emphasis on energy-efficient, scalable, and secure infrastructure that supports artificial intelligence and interoperability platforms.
-Documented IT service management processes and operational procedures, inclusive of AI system operations, data classification protocols, and regional data governance considerations.
-Comprehensive technical validation reports covering the installation, integration, and testing
- nput into disaster recovery and business continuity plans, incorporating cross-border Failover strategies
aligned with national security and regional service continuity goals.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
-Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree or related qualification would be considered with relevantexperience and certifications)
-Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNP/CCIE Data Center, VCP-DCV, CISSP, CDCS) are highly desirable.
-Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in designing, building, and commissioning large-scale, mission-critical data centers, with a strong focus on Tier 3 or Tier 4 facilities.
-Strong understanding of data center best practices and experience with highly available and fault-tolerant systems.
-Expertise in enterprise networking, server virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM), storage technologies, and operating systems (Linux, Windows).
-Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud architectures is highly desirable.
-In-depth knowledge of data security principles, compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001,NIST, regional data protection laws), and disaster recovery methodologies.
