JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE :SERVER. FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT.
Starting Salary: 22hr, Comission Available
Reports directly to the Manager – Front of House Operations, Assistant Manager – Front of House Operations and Managing Director.
Duties and Responsibilities.
• Greet all guests, manage door control and seat them according to seating arrangement.
• Ensure that guests are appropriately treated should seats be unavailable upon entry (i.e. escort to bar or lounge temporarily)
• Make recommendations on existing and new beverages and cocktails.
• Engage in upselling and cross selling to customers.
• Check voice messages and WhatsApp messages on company phones (as needed)
• Take proper and complete guest orders.
• Monitor kitchen to ensure that food / appetizer orders are delivered to guests in a timely fashion.
• Ensure that all menus are known in detail.
• Make recommendations to guests on menus ensuring that dietary constraints are considered.
• Engage in upselling and cross selling to customers, especially VIP customers, to generate increased sales, movement of products and maximum value to customers
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers
• Ensure that alcoholic beverages are not sold to minors.
• Assist in Front of House stock taking (Generally)
• Advise Managers – Front of House Operations on stock requiring replenishment.
• Ensure that front of house sections are always clean and ready to receive customers.
• Ensure that stock is appropriately rotated.
• Ensure that glassware, utensils and equipment are always clean and in serviceable condition.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of the business’ identity.
• Ensure that wines are served at the right temperature and within the proper glassware.
• Store open bottles properly to maintain quality.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through promoting excellent service; respond to customer complaints tactfully and professionally.
• Ensure that the public areas are cleaned and sanitized in keeping with company standards, health authority regulations and good housekeeping standards before the start of service
• Process customer payments via cash, linx, credit card, foreign currency, etc. Ensure that customer bills are correct before being presented.
• Assist in the compilation of customer data for the creation of a Customer database.
• Ensure that guests are escorted to the exit and ensure that the valet brings their car out in a timely fashion
• Monitor turn over and re-setting of tables after guests leave.
• Any other duties that are incidental or consequential to the above as determined by the Managers – Front of House Operations, Managing Director and/or the Senior Management.
