Our client, Temptations Café & Coffee Bar, is looking for an experienced Chef/Baker Specializing in American Cuisine to join their team.
They are seeking a passionate culinary professional who can prepare both classic and innovative American dishes and baked goods, maintain high standards of quality and presentation, and contribute creative ideas to their evolving menu.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, prepare and bake a range of American breakfast and lunch dishes, including items like pancakes, eggs, omelettes, quiche, breakfast sandwiches, French toast, salads, soups, pastries, muffins, pies, cakes, cookies and more
- Masters techniques for both sweet and savory dishes, such as poaching eggs for Eggs Benedict, crafting fluffy pancakes, and assembling hearty lunch sandwiches or salads
- Bring innovation to traditional recipes, offering unique flavor combinations and visually appealing presentations.
- Maintain a clean, efficient kitchen environment, often working in fast-paced settings where multitasking and time management are essential.
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are met
- Collaborate with the team to create new menu items and specials
Requirements
- A culinary certification or diploma
- At least 2 years of cooking and baking experience
- Proven experience as a chef or baker, with a focus on American cuisine
- Strong knowledge of classic and modern American recipes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for food and culinary innovation
- Ability to work in small spaces of a hectic kitchen
- Capable of lifting heavy items, standing, walking and bending for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work around customer demands, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
