POSITION SUMMARY
The Channel Development Manager develops strategies for customer growth and ensures the relevance of major innovations and renovations through I2L ways-of-working. They own the Integrated Commercial Planning (ICP) for Traditional Trade, driving alignment of brand, customer, and field sales plans to achieve annual business targets. This role aligns activities, leveraging shopper insights provided by the Business Units, best-in-class execution of sell-out, and brand visibility initiatives within the assigned channel.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
- Leading the Integrated Commercial Planning (ICP) for the assigned channel, ensuring full stakeholder alignment with channel vision and initiatives.
- Overseeing the investment allocation and develops the 5Ps strategy (Product, Placement, Pricing, POP, Promotion), optimizing promotional plans to maximize ROI.
- Collaborating with Sales Manager to forecast volumes three months ahead, ensuring accurate supply planning and execution of channel strategies.
- Identifying new opportunities and trends, analyse competition, and recommend strategic actions to meet sales targets and close performance gaps.
- Working with the Channel Execution Specialists to implement plans, ensuring that POP standards are met, and defining the promotional guidelines based on shopper insights.
- Translating brand plans into actionable sell-out strategies, aligning with Commercial Excellence and Field Sales teams to drive channel growth.
- Clearly developing execution tools for sales and merchandising teams and ensures adherence to company policies and principles.
WHAT MAKES YOU SUCCESSFUL
- B.Sc. in Social Sciences. Master's: in Management Studies would be asset.
- Experience having direct reports will be an asset.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in sales/marketing.
- Demonstrable record of success in a customer facing role.
