HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR
Job summary:
Coordinates and supervises the activities of the room attendants and housemen to ensure clean, well maintained and properly supplied guestrooms, lobbies, corridors, stairwells and pantry closets.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Checks all activities of the room attendants and housemen engaged in maintaining cleanliness of guestrooms, lobbies, stairwells, corridors and pantry closets.
- Familiarizes himself/herself with and carries out policies and procedures established by hotel.
- Assign duties to room attendants, houseman, and common area attendants.
- Assists in the selection and promotion of room attendants, common area attendants and housemen.
- Trains, retrains, directs and evaluates the work of housemen and room attendants.
- Inspects and evaluates guestrooms, stairwells, corridors, pantry closets. Ensures that all tasks are completed on time and according to established standards.
- Ensures that all repair requirements and maintenance problems are reported immediately to Maintenance and followed up.
- Attend to complaints regarding Housekeeping services and takes corrective action, offers all possible assistance to guests.
- Maintains a par stock on all supplies and chemicals and controls usage safeguarding wastage.
- Conducts physical inventories of linen, kitchen equipment cleaning equipment, guestroom items, cleaning chemicals and supplies periodically.
- Uses checklists in conducting thorough inspection of guestrooms and controls and implements cleaning programs.
- Conducts briefing with the room attendants and housemen for instructions and follow up.
- Ensures Front Office is provided with current information on the availability or suitability of guestrooms to ascertain and meet check-in-outs, arrivals and room changes.
- Controls all equipment and supplies issued and returned.
- Initiates and aids in effective communication within the Housekeeping, Front Office and Maintenance Departments
- Assumes other duties assigned by the Executive Housekeeper/ Rooms Division Manager /Housekeeping Manager from time to time.
- Requires fingering, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, Bend and stretch frequently, repetitive motions, hearing, visual acuity, and may on occasion have to lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Work quickly and quietly with little supervision.
Qualifications:
- 2-year college education. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language. Knowledge of Microsoft application and PMS.
- Minimum 2 years previous hotel-related experience desired
Salary: $26,312.46 annually plus service charge
