The FSC has an immediate opening for the position of Pensions Analyst (Contract).
Summary of:
The Pensions Analyst will be responsible for drafting and executing programmes to effectively monitor the financial health, risk exposures and statutory compliance of assigned pension plans, administrators, investment managers, and trustees.
Major Responsibilities:
- Monitor the activities, risk exposures and financial health of pension plans, financial institutions, corporate entities and corporate trustees inclusive of conducting stress tests.
- Utilise programs necessary to gather information and ensure compliance with filing requirements, deadlines and financial criteria.
- Monitor plans that are in the process of material change, including winding up.
- Work with the MIS Department to develop new programs to meet the needs of the Division.
- Assess the operation of the regulated entities including their structures, functions and services, and analyses inherent business risks through on-site and off-site examinations of the institutions.
- Research financial trends and provide information, advice and recommendations to the Senior Pension Analyst, Pensions Manager and the Senior Director.
Education, Knowledge and Skills:
- First Degree in Finance. Actuarial Science, Accounting, Economics, Finance and Business.
- Professional financial certification such as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Management (FRM) would be an asset.
- Knowledge of the relevant Acts relating to the industries regulated and supervised by the FSC.
- The job requires at least 2 years’ relevant work experience in a comparable position and business/work environment such as a financial and allied service operations.
