KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Provide support in ensuring that the preparation of the monthly management accounts are timely and accurate and truly reflect the performance of the business
• Distribution of the monthly management accounts with supporting statements to relevant parties together with appropriate commentary and provide responses to accounting queries as required
• Allocation of expenses to using appropriate bases
• Provide appropriate analytical support to functional management to improve business performance and effectiveness
• Proactively provide analysis of business trends to support strategic initiatives and direction
• Have a full understanding of the accounting interfaces, lead investigations into any discrepancies, and suggest solutions to eliminate non-reoccurrence.
• Ensure daily and weekly reports are accurately prepared and submitted on time. Also, provide appropriate commentary on the performance being reported
• Review accounting processes with a view to greater automation to improve efficiency
• The preparation of periodic forecasts as required by the business ensuring that appropriate assumptions are used and agreed submissions are met
• Management of the budgeting process ensuring the accuracy of the numbers as it relates to phasing, application of appropriate assumptions, changes to the economy, changes to plans (including Marketing) and the company’s business strategy.
• Preparation of capital expenditure appraisals
• Ensure the calculation, payment and reporting of all taxes (including withholding tax) as well as compliance with necessary GCT and corporate tax treatment are done as required in order to prevent any exposure of the company to penalties
• Undertake reviews at least once per year of the financial records and transactions to Liaise with tax advisors regarding any new development or legislation regarding taxes and ensure compliance with necessary GCT & corporate tax treatment
• Prepare monthly reconciliation of all tax accounts to be completed within 15 days of the month end
• Prepare a monthly corporate tax computation including deferred tax.
• Liaise with Tax advisors on various tax issues
• Management of Insurance including submission of data for quotes and renewals, management of claims and liaison with Insurance Brokers
• Provide finance (including tax) related processes and operations advice to management
• Provide support to the Director of Finance and Finance Manager as directed

QUALIFICATIONS

• ACCA or master’s degree in Banking, Finance or related area
• Minimum five (5) years progressive accounting experience including budgeting and taxation
•  Advanced proficiency in Microsoft excel and database management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI would be an asset
• Detailed oriented with excellent analytical and presentation skills
