Job Description  - Senior Accountant

Key Responsibilities

Income Audit & Revenue Integrity:

• Perform the daily income audit process, verifying the accuracy and completeness of all revenue streams (room revenue, F&B, banquets, spa, etc.).
• Reconcile daily revenue between the Opera, Symphony and the general ledger.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in revenue, cash, credit card, and ledger postings.
• Prepare, Analyze and report on allowances, discounts, rebates, and complimentary services.
• Prepare all Income audit month end reports
• Ensure all transactions are properly authorized and supported by documentation.
• Maintain a strong understanding of hotel front office and outlet procedures to identify potential control weaknesses.

Core Senior Accounting Functions:

• Assist month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
• Assist and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
• Review variances and report findings to management.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in any other accounting tasks as assigned.

Inventory Management & Cost Control:

• Assist in the monthly inventory process for Food & Beverage, and other inventory items.
• Reconcile inventory accounts in the general ledger and investigate significant variances.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the hospitality industry preferred.
• Proven, hands-on experience with income audit and other general Accounting tasks.
• Experience with major hospitality PMS - Opera, Symphony – POS systems, Microsoft Excel and any accounting software.
