POSITION:                     General & Underwater Maintenance Personnel (DIVER)

NOTE:  PADI QUALIFICATION REQUIRED FOR FURTHER CONSIDERATION

REPORTS TO:                Director of Operations

JOB SUMMARY:            General & Underwater Maintenance Personnel conduct maintenance both above and below water as required. 

Other Responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining below and above water structures including but not limited to moorings, docks, buildings, pilings, fiber optic and electrical cables, pipelines, boats, structures, barges, floating docks, foreshore;
• Maintaining vessels below the water line and above; in and out of water hull cleaning, scrubbing, scraping, waxing, varnishing, fiber glassing, metal maintenance, electrical and mechanical maintenance; 
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the entire vessel ie. decks, freeboard, bilges, engines, bar areas, bathrooms, galleys and all accoutrements as required;
• Maintaining all diving equipment;
• Troubleshooting and repairing engine equipment and systems on assigned vessels;
• Determining specific parts, supplies, and material requirements for each task;
• Supporting on-land vessel dry dockings, as well as, supporting maintenance and repairs on other equipment, and systems assigned;
• Assisting with the repositioning of vessels, barges and boats as needed;
• Piloting/driving vessels, barges and boats to work locations, to carry out assigned tasks;
• Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with company procedures, standard operating procedures and applicable regulatory requirements;
• Ensuring all tasks are preformed within the appropriate pollution control guidelines;
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, exploded view diagrams, engineering sketches, charts, and work orders;
• Any other duties as assigned by management.

 Position Requirements:

 Minimum qualification of PADI open water diver or ACD/ACDE diving certifications or equivalent;

• Must have First Aid / CPR and Oxygen Administration certifications;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – Capable of maintaining effective working relationships with staff at all levels;
• A mature self-motivator who can work independently with minimum supervision;
• Ability to take on a variety of tasks and while working under pressure;
• Candidate must be able to meet the physical requirements of this position;
• Must be prepared to be called out at all hours.
