Export Manager
JOB SUMMARY
The successful candidate will primarily responsible for planning, coordinating, distribution and export of products to international customers. He/she acts as an intermediary between overseas buyers and the Company. The successful candidate will be required to continuously improve the growth and development of the Company by constantly seeking out international buyers, and assessing marketing potential for new and existing sales opportunities. He/she is expected to increase our consumer base by exceeding their expectations at all brand touch-points in the market.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Building Customer Base
- Consistently deliver international sales goals and programs with guaranteed success
- Establishes Marketing programmes that drive sales
- Seeks out prospective international customers and determines ways to increase exports
- Establish, maintain, and builds relationships with both local and international customers
- Monitors customer feedback to maintain excellent customer service
Exporting/Shipping
- Plans and executes international shipment of goods
- Negotiate with shippers, agents, vendors
- Liaises with staff and customers to coordinate the delivery of goods
Regulatory
- Ensures that all Government and organizational policies are followed
- Ensures business processes are compliant with international trade regulations
- Serves as the primary interface on interpretation of trade regulatory requirements or Company trade policies and procedures.
- Arranges proper in-transit permissions on shipments to various locations
- Develops, implements and maintains export manuals and records in accordance with Government and Company policies
- Responsible for the Company’s export licence processes
Budgeting/Reporting
- Analyse sales statistics, contributes to the sales strategy, and determine budgets
- Maintains accurate records of and reports on budgeted expense items
- Provides regular reports as required in a timely manner
Administrative
- Processes the relevant documents to expedite billing processes
- Manages and process all necessary documents to be submitted to the relevant Agencies in a timely manner
- Accurately prepare documents for export in a timely manner
- Continuously maintain and update all export records and filing system
Any other duties assigned
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
- Excellent customer relationship management skills
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Must be Sales oriented and target driven
- Ability to prepare reports and to make oral presentations on new opportunities in a clear and analytical manner to senior managers and the Board
- Must possess sound and proven understanding of general sales & marketing strategies to engage critical thinking and problem solving techniques
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of business finance, managing budgets, develops sales targets and evaluate sales data
- Knowledge of international contract terms, foreign currencies, tariffs and trading regulations
- Must possess the ability to cope with frequent local and international travel
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in International Business Management or Marketing or equivalent
- Five (5) years’ work experience in Exporting/Importing at a senior level (experience working in the Manufacturing industry would be an asset)
- Proficiency in a second language would be an asset (preferably Spanish)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
