Our Client, Associated Brands Industries Limited, is seeking to fill the position of Export Manager. 
   
Are you a commercially driven strategist with a passion for building brands across borders? This role goes far beyond traditional export sales, it is about driving international growth, shaping markets, and forging long-term partnerships. As the Export Manager, you will lead the Division’s global market development agenda, expanding the company’s footprint through new market entry, distributor relationship management, and strategic commercial planning. Based in San Juan, Trinidad, this permanent position demands a hands-on leader who can think globally, act entrepreneurially, and navigate complex markets across the Caribbean, Latin America, North America, and beyond. Extensive regional and international travel is required. This opportunity is open to CARICOM Nationals.
  
Job Summary: 
Key leader in advancing the Company’s regional and international commercial footprint. This role requires a strategic, results-driven professional who can expand into new markets, deepen distributor partnerships, and manage a multi-functional export team. Reporting to the General Manager, the Export Manager will oversee all aspects of export market development, channel performance, team leadership, and customer relationship management across CARICOM, Latin America, North America, and other emerging regions including East Asia.
  
Key Responsibilities 
Strategic Market & Export Development 
- Lead the development and execution of export strategies to drive growth across the globe.
 - Expand the reach of the company’s products in both existing and new regional/international markets.
 - Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities for geographic expansion and product positioning.
 - Develop market entry strategies and oversee the setup of new distribution channels or partnerships.
 - Collaborate with product, marketing, and R&D teams to tailor offerings to meet market-specific consumer needs.
 - Prepare business cases and feasibility studies for new market launches.
 
Distributor & Key Account Management 
- Manage strategic relationships with third-party distributors, regional subsidiaries, and international retail partners.
 - Lead joint business planning (JBP), contract negotiations, and sales development agreements with major accounts.
 - Monitor distributor performance and implement corrective actions or support plans where needed.
 - Represent the company in high-level commercial negotiations and regional trade events.
 - Serve as the commercial point of contact for complex or high-value export customers.
 
Sales Operations & Performance Management 
- Set export sales targets, manage budgets, and track performance against key KPIs.
 - Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform commercial strategies.
 - Collaborate with supply chain, finance, and operations teams to align sales targets with production, shipping, and forecasting.
 - Oversee pricing strategies, discount structures, and trade spend across markets.
 - Ensure export documentation, compliance requirements, and logistical operations are executed efficiently and accurately.
 
Team Leadership & People Management 
- Lead a cross-functional export team comprising 3 Export Representatives, 2 Export Coordinators, and support staff
 - Establish clear goals and KPIs, provide coaching and performance feedback, and support ongoing professional development
 - Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and customer-centric culture within the export team
 - Ensure adequate support, tools, and structure are in place for the team to meet market demands and internal goals
 
  
Required Qualifications & Skills 
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
 - Experience: Minimum 5–7 years in export management, international sales, or business development, with a proven track record in FMCG or food industries.
 - Experience managing international distributors, regional subsidiaries, and high-value key accounts. Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and cross-cultural communication abilities
 - Demonstrated leadership experience managing multi-functional teams.
 - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM, and ERP platforms.
 - Willingness and ability to travel internationally (frequent travel).
 
  
Preferred Attributes
- Experience marketing or selling FMCG products across regional/international markets
 - Familiarity with CARICOM, LATAM, and North American trade and regulatory environments
 - Bilingual (Spanish/French/Portuguese) proficiency is a strong asset
 - Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive change and navigate ambiguity
 - Highly organized, analytical, and solutions-oriented
