JOB SUMMARY
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), as delegated by the Board of Directors, is responsible for management and operations of the organisation. He/she is accountable for the appropriate use and safeguard of all assets and resources.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the Board of Directors to determine the organisation’s strategic direction.
- Oversee the implementation of the strategic plan through an integrated framework of operational plans.
- Ensuring a strong Risk, Compliance and Governance Framework is embedded across the organisation.
- Establish and maintain a system of internal controls to safeguard the organisation’s assets and maintain safety and soundness.
- Ensure that customers are consistently served effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure that collection and recovery efforts of delinquent accounts are effective.
- Act as "Treasurer” of the organisation and report to the Board of Directors on a regular basis the financial status as required.
- Oversee a marketing programme that will identify customers’ needs and promote the organisation’s products and services to effectively fulfil those needs.
- Allocate physical, human and financial resources to implement organisational policies and programs and establish financial and administrative controls.
- Approve overall human resources planning and deployment.
- Represent the organisation or designate representatives to do so and act on behalf of the organisation in negotiations or other official functions/capacities.
- Network to grow and develop the company’s business and brand.
- Signs documents and cheques on behalf of the Company within his/her delegation of authority.
- Promote and protect the interest of the various stakeholders and other cooperative bodies.
Health & Safety:
- Report any hazards which are identified to the relevant person/persons.
- Ensure the application of and adherence to established HSE measures and procedures to ensure the well-being of all employees and customers.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A Masters in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, General Management or any related field and / or a Chartered Accountant designation.
- At least ten (10) years work experience in the financial services sector.
- Five (5) years’ work experience at a senior management level in the financial services sector.
- A proven track record of developing and implementing Strategic Plans.
