Job Summary: 

The Sr. Maintenance Technician (Refrigeration & A/C) is responsible for performing hands-on maintenance and repairs on refrigeration and air conditioning systems across multiple retail store locations. This includes troubleshooting breakdowns, conducting routine servicing, and documenting all work performed in accordance with company standards. The technician plays a critical role in ensuring uninterrupted cooling and climate control systems within the store environment. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Perform on-site troubleshooting and repairs of refrigeration and A/C systems, including motors, compressors, coils, and control systems. 
• Respond to service calls for urgent system failures (e.g., cooling issues, equipment breakdowns). 
• Use tools and diagnostic equipment to repair mechanical and electrical components. 
• Clean and wash condenser units, filters, and other components as part of routine servicing. 
• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance activities to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. 
• Receive and execute daily maintenance assignments and emergency tasks from the Maintenance Manager or Supervisor. 
• Manage workload across multiple retail branches, ensuring timely completion of tasks. 
• Escalate unresolved or complex issues to the Maintenance Supervisor. 
• Complete Service Sheets for each job performed, including: 
• Description of work completed 
• Time taken 
• Parts and materials used 
• Store manager or key holder sign-off 
• Fill out maintenance checklists for routine inspections and servicing. 
• Submit all documentation for review and filing by the Facilities team. 
• Maintain professional communication with store personnel and the Maintenance Supervisor. 
• Follow all safety and operational procedures during repairs and servicing. 
• Demonstrate responsibility for the tools, equipment, and materials issued. 

Education & Experience: 

• Certificate or Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, HVAC Technology, or a related field from an accredited technical or vocational institution. 

• Certification in Refrigerant Handling (e.g., EPA 608 or equivalent) is an asset. 

• Additional electrical or mechanical qualifications are advantageous. 

Experience Requirements: 

• Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in refrigeration and A/C maintenance, preferably in a retail or commercial environment. 

• Proven track record of responding to system breakdowns and performing preventative maintenance. 

• Experience with completing technical documentation and maintenance logs.
