JOB SUMMARY:
 The Head of Quality Assurance is responsible for:
 
- ensuring that Nutrition Products Limited produces and distributes high quality and nutritious products, and to introduce new products with increased nutritional value to the feeding program.
  
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS: 
Administrative Responsibilities
- Ensure that products constitute the required nutritional value at a minimum by planning, executing, and overseeing inspection and testing of products to confirm quality conformance to specifications and quality deliverables
- Interpret, build on and comply with Company quality assurance standards
- Review policies and standards to ensure that all processes/procedures conform to legal standards and regulations
- Develop new standards for production with improvements as needed and create testing protocols for implementation
- Conduct and provide oversight for compliance audits
- Conduct surveys to solicit feedback on products
- Analyze and investigate product complaints or reported quality issues to ensure closure in accordance with the Company guidelines and external regulatory requirements
                
- Monitor risk management procedures and maintain and analyze problems log to identify and report recurring issues to management
- Make random visits to schools to ensure that students receive the product within set quality standards as obtained when leaving the plant.
- Improve/maintain present product standards and introduce new products/nutritional meals to the school feeding program.
- Monitor schools for adequate and acceptable storage standards of deliveries.
- Meet with the Warehouse and Distribution Department Head to facilitate feedback on products distributed.
- Develop, implement and evaluate plan of action to improve product quality and increase variety.
- Ensure that product formulae are developed and standardized between plants.
Human Resource Responsibilities:
 
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of direct reports, prepares performance appraisals and recommends and/or initiate corrective actions wherever necessary to improve performance and/or established personal and/or organizational goals
 
- Participate in the recruitment of staff for the Plant and recommends transfers, promotion, termination and leave in accordance with established Human Resource Policies and Procedures;
- Develop and implement in collaboration with the Human Resource Department, a programme of Succession Planning for the Plant to facilitate continuity and the availability of required skills and competencies to meet the needs of the Division;
 
- Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports through effective planning, delegation, communication, training, mentoring and coaching;
 
- Ensure the welfare and developmental needs of staff in the Plant are clearly identified and addressed;
 
Establish and maintain a system that fosters a culture of teamwork, employee empowerment and commitment to the Plant’s and Company’s
 
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE;
Minimum Qualifications:
- BSc. Degree with a Food Chemistry Major from a recognized tertiary institution 
- Training/Certification in Quality Control processes
 
Minimum Experience:
- Three (3) years’ experience in quality control in a manufacturing
- Environment, preferably in the food industry.  
 
REMUNERATION 
Basic Salary: $5,198,035.00 - $6,990,779.00 per annum
