Senior Assistant Accountant

Federal Capital Group is the holding company for Marathon Insurance Brokers (MIB)—the Caribbean’s largest motor-insurance broker and the region’s premier online quotation platform—and Federal Capital Investment & Finance Limited (FCIF), Jamaica’s leading insurance premium-finance company. As we prepare to go public in 2026, we’re expanding our finance team with a results-driven Senior Assistant Accountant to support the financial operations of MIB.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare selected financial statements and management schedules.
- Produce weekly and monthly treasury reports (cash positions, forecasts, liquidity metrics).
- Review and finalize monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts.
- Maintain the fixed-asset register (additions, disposals, depreciation, reconciliations).
- Support month-end close and audit requests; uphold internal controls and policy compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (minimum requirement).
- At least 2 years’ relevant experience in accounting or audit.
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting/ERP systems.
- Working knowledge of IFRS, reconciliations, and control best practices.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet tight deadlines with integrity and confidentiality.
