Position Title: Investment Accountant

Role Overview:
 We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Investment Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for managing and reporting on investment portfolios, with a focus on shares, bonds, and equity instruments. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in investment accounting principles and experience supporting day-to-day operations related to financial assets.
 
Key Responsibilities:
- Record, reconcile, and report transactions involving shares, bonds, and equity investments.
- Maintain accurate investment ledgers and ensure timely posting of journal entries.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual investment reports for management and stakeholders.
- Perform valuations and monitor market movements affecting portfolio assets.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes for investment accounts.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis related to investment income and asset performance.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements for investment activities.
- Collaborate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation during audits.
- Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the investment accounting function.
- Maintain organized records and documentation for all investment transactions.
 
Qualifications and Experience
 Education & Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CFA) is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in investment accounting or a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience with shares, bonds, and equity instruments.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) is an plus.
- Familiarity with IFRS or local accounting standards.

- Strong understanding of investment accounting principles and financial reporting.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
