POSITION SUMMARY:
The ideal candidate is an experienced and motivated Bakery & Production Line Manager to lead daily operations in our bakery and oversee the production of prepackaged, ready-to-eat food products. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient workflow, consistent product quality, food safety compliance, and timely delivery of goods in alignment with our brand standards and customer expectations.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in food production management, a passion for operational excellence, and the ability to lead a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management
- Oversee the full bakery and food production process from ingredient preparation through packaging.
- Manage daily production schedules, output targets, and shift assignments to meet demand forecasts.
- Maintain and optimize workflows for efficiency, cost control, and waste reduction.
Team Leadership
- Lead, train, and mentor bakery and production staff, including line workers, bakers, and quality control personnel.
- Foster a collaborative, safety-focused, and high-performance culture.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement development plans.
Quality Assurance & Food Safety
- Ensure all products meet quality standards, packaging specifications, and food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA, HACCP).
- Monitor sanitation and hygiene practices throughout the facility.
- Conduct audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination
- Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure timely availability of ingredients and packaging materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and minimize overstock or shortages.
Compliance & Reporting
- Maintain production records, batch logs, and compliance documentation
- Report production metrics, safety incidents, and improvement initiatives to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Business, Operations Management, or related field (preferred).
- 3–5+ years of experience in a food production or bakery environment, with 2+ years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices (HACCP, GMP, etc.).
- Experience with prepackaged or grab-and-go food product lines is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work early hours, weekends, or holidays as needed to meet production demands.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures (e.g., ovens, refrigerated areas).
- Ability to navigate a busy production floor safely and efficiently.
