Job Specification
Production & Manpower Management
q Supervise and effectively utilize approved manpower to achieve production targets of:
- 1,000 x 20lb cylinders/hour
- 45 x 100lb cylinders/hour
q Assign daily tasks to Technicians, verify the quality of work, and assist in operations as needed, especially in the absence of the Senior Team Leader – Production.
q Monitor attendance by ensuring staff sign in/out and verify straight time and overtime hours.
Quality Control & Compliance
q Assist the Senior Team Leader – Production with quality checks in the 20lb and 100lb cylinder production areas, including:
- Verifying tare weight input at the carousel.
- Ensuring correct fill weights on all cylinders.
- Confirming proper tightness testing procedures.
- Ensuring all seals are correctly placed.
- Ensuring all cylinders leave the plant with correct specifications and checking all 100lb cylinders for leaks or other defects.
q Support computer scale personnel in adjusting filling machines to ensure accurate operations.
Bulk Operations & Cylinder Logistics
q Ensure all Bulk Peddling Trucks are:
- Offloaded correctly with volume verified by the Plant Technician.
- Loaded via in-line meter with quantities verified and signed by the Plant Technician.
q Check-in and check-out of Trailers and Tank Wagons:
- Incoming: Verify quantity of cylinders against Delivery Note (DN) and log into Covestone.
- Outgoing: Ensure trailers are loaded per Sales Department request, prepare DNs, and log data into Covestone.
Trailer & Cylinder Management
q Inspect all cylinder transport trailers for:
- Functioning locking mechanisms.
- Compliance of floorboards with safety standards.
q Ensure all cylinders are:
- Properly stacked and stored in designated areas.
- Always accounted for to maintain inventory accuracy.
q Verify the number of painted cylinders and prepare documentation for contractor payments.
q Ensure vehicles carry maximum allowable cylinder stock, in accordance with company policy, including painted cylinders.
Plant Maintenance & Safety
q Ensures that Job Safety Analysis (JSA) form is completed daily when required and that employees sign to confirm their understanding of all identified risks, hazards, and the corresponding preventive measures.
q Ensure continuous and proper operation of all plant equipment, reporting any issues to the Senior Team Leader – Production.
q Always maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the plant to minimize risks and prevent accidents.
q Promote and enforce strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
q In the absence of the Senior Team Leader – Production, liaise with the Sales Department and the Sales Team Leader (Maloney) regarding daily stock requirements.
Person Specificationn
q Possession of a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technician’s Diploma or equivalent
q A minimum of three (3) C.X.C./G.C.E subjects including Mathematics and English
q A certificate in Supervisory Management will be an asset
q A minimum of Two (2) years’ experience supervising in a manufacturing environment
