Job Summary:
The Electro-Mechanical Technician has the responsibility of providing full support for all machines in the factory during the shift, in both the packaging and utilities areas. The incumbent is further required to provide operational support to the Shift Team Lead in ensuring the line operates at optimum capacity, efficiency, and safe manner in order to support the company's overall objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
o Monitor daily production outputs, raw material received and used, and finished products transferred
o Ensure equipment and work environment are maintained in clean and safe condition
o Ensure shift logs are filled out accurately and in a timely manner
o Ensure daily CILT is executed regularly and effectively.
o Initiate work request for corrective maintenance action as required
o Coach and develops Operators.
o Reduce equipment downtime by minimizing Mean Time between Failure (MTBF)
o Identify and communicate operational needs to support entities
o Monitor and record relevant data for the Utilities area
o Account for all waste generated on the shift including process and material waste
o Perform relief for personnel on shifts as required
o Change over machines based on product size and perform maintenance to machines as required
o Attend trainings scheduled by Company
o Operate machines at a steady speed to achieve optimum line efficiency and meet quality specifications, as required
o Troubleshoot and correct problems associated with machine and carry out basic maintenance of machine
o Complete logs in an accurate and timely manner
o Operate with a view to meet ISO 9001, ISO 14000, ISO 18000 and FSSC 22000 standards, regulatory requirements, and any other third party management systems as required, eg. Coke
o Maintain a Safe and Healthy Work Environment
o Support the Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems and the Environmental Management Systems in accordance with the following International Standards: Occupational Health and Environment, Quality Management Systems and Food Safety respectively
o Ensure factory operates within the requirements of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), personnel practices and other standards implemented
o Any other duty as may be assigned within the scope of the job
Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- Certification from NTEI or an equivalent technical institution in Mechanical Maintenance or a similar capacity
- At least two (2) years’ experience in manufacturing plant environment
- Effective communication skills – written and verbal including the preparation of reports and the ability to communicate with varying levels of staff
- High level of ownership and accountability.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Productivity tools (Word, Excel) and other computer-related manufacturing systems
- Possess extensive technical experience in Industrial Maintenance
- Sound research, analytical and problem solving skills
- Meticulous, with the ability to functional well individually and on a team within a demanding work environment
