Interested persons are invited to apply for the position of Accounting Assistant.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensures all information received is accurately processed and updated to the relevant accounts in a timely manner and in accordance with existing policy.
• Files all required documents sequentially and completely.
• Reconciles accounts assigned and maintains required schedules.
• Prepares returns assigned for internal and external reporting.
• Assists during the conduct of internal and external audits.
• Investigates queries assigned within 24 hours.
• Receives payments from customers, staff and other service providers & mails out receipts on a daily basis.
• Reconciles Daily Cash Summary/Teller Reports for checking.
• Prepares deposit slips and packages daily for collection by the Security Company
• Ensures all mortgage journals are entered into customer’s accounts and general journal for workstation is prepared within 24 hours.
• Other duties and responsibilities which are incidental or consequential to the above and which may be assigned by the Head of Department or representative from time to time.

 Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of five [5] CXC passes, including English A & Mathematics (General Proficiency, Grade II Minimum).
• ACCA Level 1 - minimum requirement.
• Certificate of Accounting Technician (CAT) or equivalent accounting qualification.
• Completion of ACCA Level 2 or higher is considered an asset.

Minimum Experience

• 1- 2 years general accounting experience
