Stewart Finance Jamaica Limited (SFJL), a company within the Stewart's Automotive Group provides financing to eligible clientele for the acquisition of motor vehicles and industrial equipment.
SFJL is seeking to recruit a dynamic, experienced and results oriented individual to fill the position of:
FINANCE (CREDIT) OFFICER
SOME KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interview customers to obtain and compile copies of the loan applicants' credit histories, individual/corporate financial statements and other financial information.
- Assess loan requests or commercial credit applications through interviews with applicants.
- Check application forms, references, credit ratings, credit scores, pay slips and other information for eligibility and authenticity.
- Analyze applicants' financial status & creditworthiness to determine credit worthiness and the potential risks involved.
- Create credit scoring method to determine eligibility for loans based on set criteria.
- Prepare and submit loan proposals to adjudication body for review.
- Assist in preparing documentation setting out conditions and periods of loans and rates of repayment.
- Explain to customers the different types of loan and credit options that are available, as well as the terms of those facilities based on an analysis of their applications.
- Answer enquiries concerning loan balances, penalties and credit standing of customers.
- Review loan agreements to ensure that they are complete and accurate according to policy and provide recommendations.
- Operate within the guidelines and requirements of the company’s credit policy.
- Establish partnerships with Brand representatives through daily interactions and weekly meetings, as necessary.
- Visit customers as needed to establish strong business relationships and limit credit risk.
- Monitor the progress and status of existing loans and assist with delinquency management, as required.
- Stay abreast of new types of loans and other financial services and products offered by competitors in order to better meet customers' needs.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Banking and Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar capacity
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel)
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial statements
- Ability to perform business math (basic algebra, compute ratios, etc.)
- Knowledge of basic Accounting principles
- Competency in budgeting, forecasting and planning
- Must have a high level of accuracy, be well organized and have high attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Excellent interpersonal and customer-centric skills
