Job Summary
The Accounting Assistant supports the finance department by performing a range of accounting tasks with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and customer service. Key responsibilities include managing accounts payable and receivable processes, performing general accounting duties such as reconciliations and trial balance finalization, and assisting with audit preparations. The role also involves liaising with financial institutions, vendors, and customers to resolve queries and ensure smooth financial operations.
The ideal candidate will have completed ACCA Level I (or equivalent), possess at least four years of experience in a similar role, and demonstrate proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office tools. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are essential, along with a sound understanding of internal controls and business processes.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Knowledge and experience working in the following areas:
- Accounts Payable (invoice processing to payment)
- Accounts Receivables (Invoice creation to collections)
- General Accounting – Account Reconciliations, General Ledger and Trial Balance finalization
- Support Audit Functions
- Customer Service – Liaison with Financial Institutions vendors , customers for query resolution and other support functions
- Sound Knowledge of internal controls and business processes
Qualifications & Experience:
- Completed ACCA Level I or equivalent.
- A minimum of four years’ experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of an Accounting software package,
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Excel and Word
