The Proof Reader plays a crucial role in managing packaging processes from putting the packaging together, generatint the FAW and liasing with the printers on art.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Internal Communication:

Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure that all relevant and accurate information is placed on the packaging, includes the below but is not limited to:

-Marketing:design

-Purchasing Department: Part numbers

- R & D: Ingredient listng and nutritional panel

- Quality Assurance: Final Label Dimensions

-Manufacturing: Label templates/keylines, dimensions and eye mark

-Legal: Regulatory

-Creative Director: Colour approval

-Master Data Manager - Barcodes

Design and Layout:

Create packaging layouts for labels, cans and aseptic packs.
Ensure all mandatory information (such as ingredients, nutritional facts, barcodes and legal requirements) is accurately placed on labels.
Conduct spelling checks to maintain accuracy.
Conduct Barcode and QR Code Test to ensure scan ability and the bars and digits must be accurate.
Preparation and submission of label approval form.
Read and become familiar with the labelling regulation for the countries to which we export product.
Modification of existing labels.

Supplier Liaison:

Coordinate with suppliers (printing companies) to obtain necessary specifications and templates.
Provide Finished Artwork (FAW) to label suppliers.
Liaise with suppliers regarding digitial proofs - review and approvals.

Regulatory Bodies Liaison:

Submit labels for approval to the various regulatory bodies as required:

-Food and Drugs Trinidad and Tobago

-Barbados National Standards Institution (BNSI)

-Jamaica Bureau of Standards (BSJ)

-US FDA

-Canadian Food Inspection Authority

Brand Consistency:

Ensure packaging designs accurately represent the company's brand and ethos.
Collaborate with Upwork graphic designers to finalize packaging text and graphics

Presentation:

Technical and Business Summaries for both technical and non-technical persons
Present final label layouts to stakeholders and company managers.

Library:

Maintain a library of current and obsolete packaging - packaging database.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Education: BSc in Business Adminsitration/Marketing/Graphic Arts

Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or a FMCG environment.

Industry Knowledge: Expertise in a manufacturing, quality standards and print production process.

Software Proficiency: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Powerpoint.
