The role:
This role will report to the Vice President/General Manager Caribbean with oversight from Excelerate’s LNG Marketing team, all while working closely with all other functional groups in Jamaica and the company headquarters in The Woodlands, Texas. This person will implement the company’s Jamaican-market strategy, develop new gas and LNG projects as well as management of all existing trucked gas customers and contracts.
Responsibilities:
- Formulate and implement a commercial strategy aligned with the goals and objectives of the Jamaica business unit, with a focus on accelerating growth and optimizing the remaining [30%] of the local gas market.
- Develop new commercial relationships while maintaining and strengthening existing relationships with small-scale gas and LNG customers and stakeholders in Jamaica.
- Support the growth and development of Excelerate’s Jamaica LNG and gas portfolio through identification and development of new business opportunities.
- Manage company participation in competitive bidding, project structuring, and commercial negotiations.
- Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management as required.
- Partner with regional teams, finance team, and senior management team to coordinate documentation and analysis in support of investment decisions, including information memos and presentations for company leadership.
Education/Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration Economics, Finance, or related field [required]; MBA or similar postgraduate degree preferred.
- 12+ years’ work experience in business development, commercial negotiations, corporate strategy, finance, investor relations, or public administration roles, with increasing levels of supervisory responsibility.
- Previous experience in and deep knowledge of the Jamaican market business landscape, natural gas, LNG, oil and/or energy infrastructure experience strongly preferred.
- Work experience with multinational corporations preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Requires ability to travel, often upon short notice, on an as needed basis.
- High motivation and initiative with an ability to work without close supervision.
