Senior General Manager
Contract: Annual 1 year renewable (3-Month Probationary Period)
Compensation: $15,000 – $20,000 per month (Based on experience)

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior General Manager to lead the full operations and strategic growth of a supermarket. This hands-on retail leader will manage a large team, drive profitability, and foster a customer-first culture. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in procurement, vendor management, warehousing, customer relations, technology systems, and general staff leadership. The Senior GM will hold full P&L responsibility and ensure consistent operational excellence, community engagement, and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily supermarket operations, including sales floor management, merchandising, inventory, and customer service.
- Develop and execute long-term operational strategies to achieve business growth, profitability, and market share objectives.
- Monitor and analyze KPIs, shrinkage, stock rotation, and loss prevention practices to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Implement performance management frameworks for all staff and management teams, including goal setting, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Lead in-store promotions, loyalty programs, and community engagement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food-handling standards across all operations.
- Take full accountability for P&L, budgets, forecasting, and financial performance, implementing corrective actions as required.
- Drive operational innovation through process improvements, technology integration, and cost optimization.
- Coach, mentor, and develop staff and management teams to build a high-performance culture.
- Establish and enforce HR policies, oversee , training, succession planning, and workforce development initiatives.
- Manage supplier and vendor relationships, warehousing, and logistics to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, and stock availability.
- Negotiate contracts while maintaining quality standards and cost control.
- Apply technology solutions to enhance POS systems, reporting, stock control, and customer engagement.
- Maintain strong customer relationships, address concerns, and ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Lead cross-functional projects, including new store openings, system implementations, and operational expansions.
- Represent the supermarket in strategic meetings with stakeholders, business partners, and community organizations.
- Develop contingency plans for operational disruptions, including staffing shortages, supply chain issues, and emergency situations.
- Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business Administration, or Human Resource Management
10+ years of senior leadership experience in supermarkets or large-scale retail operations, including team management
Proven expertise in retail operations, technology systems, procurement, vendor relations, warehousing, and staff management
Demonstrated success in P&L management, sales growth, merchandising, and inventory control
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Access to a motor vehicle and flexible availability, including Saturdays, evenings, and holidays
