The Business and Employment Centre is seeking a results-driven HR Generalist with proven capability in managing the full recruitment life cycle and industrial relations matters. The successful candidate will have intermediate to supervisory-level HR experience, demonstrate sound judgement in addressing employee relations issues, and operate independently in high-pressure environments
The main duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Supports the execution of all HR related functions/HR life cycle where needed.
- Coordinates and executes the recruitment and selection process.
- Assists with the execution of the Company’s performance management process where needed.
- Educates and advises employees and management on company policies and procedures. Develops and implements new HR policies as needed.
- Onboards new employees.
- Resolves employee relations matters. Liaises with clients as needed.
- Educates and advises employees and management on company policies and procedures.
- Manages disciplinary meetings and employee grievances according to company policy, labour law and HR best practice.
- Ensures the accurate and proper record-keeping of all employee information.
- Assists with the execution and coordination of employee engagement events where required.
- Provides accurate and timely HR related reports.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in human resources
- BSc./BA in Human Resources or related field
- Sound knowledge of all HR functions with an emphasis on Recruitment strategies
- Industrial Relations experience (an asset)
- In-depth knowledge of Barbados labour laws and HR best practices is required
- Highly proficient in MS Office
- Highly confidential, detail oriented
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Proactive, assertive with sound critical thinking skills
