Shift Coverage: Overnight | Flexible Work Hour 7 Days
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Liaison to join our logistics team. This role bridges accounting, operations and customer service functions, ensuring compliance, accuracy and seamless communication across all parties. The Accounting Liaison plays a vital role in maintaining operational efficiency, financial integrity, and strong partnerships with carriers, drivers and customers.
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Oversee carrier onboarding, contract verification, and ensure compliance with federal and state transportation regulations.
- Verification of carrier contracts and ensuring all loads are following policy and procedure.
- Accounting duties, including but not limited to verification of contract rates, accounting receivables, locating shipping manifests and paperwork, daily bookkeeping, and data entry.
- Manage existing operational accounts and continuously exude the highest level of customer service with vendors.
- Manage operational accounts while providing the highest standard of customer service to vendors, carriers, and clients.
- Maintain regular communication with carriers, drivers, and customers; address service delays, damaged goods, and other transportation issues promptly and professionally.
- Ensure all freight activity, load updates, and communications are properly logged in the system; maintain accurate records for compliance and auditing.
- Perform check calls with drivers to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries.
- Log updates in the system accurately and notify brokers by phone or email when urgent matters arise.
- Coordinate and schedule freight shipments to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Track and monitor shipments, resolving issues such as delays or damaged goods quickly and professionally.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries and concerns in a timely, professional manner.
- Support cross-functional operations and assist with projects or tasks as assigned.
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Minimum 2+ years of customer service experience; logistics or accounting experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in accounting, logistics, or business a plus.
- Strong data entry and bookkeeping skills with accuracy and speed.
- Exceptional communication skills with a professional phone presence and ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- Highly organized with excellent multitasking abilities in a fast-paced, process-driven environment.
- Ability to handle high call volumes, multiple priorities, and rapidly changing needs with composure.
- Strong problem-solving skills and capacity to resolve complex carrier or customer situations.
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed.
- Flexibility to work any shift, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
