Job Purpose:
Under the direction of the Network and Systems administrator, the incumbent is responsible for providing technical assistance to students, faculty and staff. In addition, the incumbent would be required to perform advanced computer troubleshooting and basic data entry task.
Key Outputs:
- Hardware and Software tested.
- Computer Labs maintained.
- Simulator Labs maintained.
- Audio Visual equipment maintained.
- Inventory of I.T equipment maintained.
- Procedures, policies, and guidelines adhered to.
- Computers for use on the network are installed and configured.
- Activities are documented.
Key Responsibility Areas:
Technical / Professional Responsibilities
- Installs and configures hardware and software components.
- Repairs or replaces damaged hardware.
- Upgrades systems to enable compatible software.
- Installs and upgrades antivirus software.
- Performs tests on new hardware and software.
- Defines software, hardware, and network requirements.
- Troubleshoots hardware and software issues.
- Provides technical user support to internal and external customers.
- Be present, visible, and available to Faculty, staff and students requiring technical assistance.
- Provides answers to Faculty, staff and students who are experiencing I.T. related issues.
- Be acquainted with campus technology changes and problems.
- Assisting with the Inventory of Information Technology equipment.
- Adheres to correct procedures, policies, and guidelines.
- Documents all activities, record results and retrieve data.
- Maintains safe and clean work area and equipment.
- Schedules and prioritizes activities undertaken to meet agreed targets.
- Provides hardware and software support to staff, faculty and students.
- Communicates technical problems and proposes solutions to the System and Network Administrator.
- Consults with System and Network Administrator to develop appropriate technical solutions, if necessary.
- Installs and configures computers for use on the network as required.
- Installs and configures printers for individual computers and or for use on the network as required..
- Conducts data entry duties.

Minimum Required Qualification and Experience.
- At least an Associate Degree in Information Technology; Computer Science; Computer/Software Engineering; or any other related field

- Sound judgment and analytical skills
- Excellent time management and organization skills
