To provide reliable accounting support that upholds the Company policies and contributes to overall objectives.
- To prepare, calculate and remit statutory deductions including PAYE, NIS, and Health Surcharge ensuring compliance with all regulatory deadlines.
- To compute VAT obligations, prepare monthly/ quarterly VAT returns, and submit filings to the relevant authority, keeping accurate supporting documentation.
- To record transactions accurately in Peachtree ensuring financial data is up to date and properly documented.
- To assist in organizing financial documents, batch transactions and assign appropriate codes to maintain proper classification and audit readiness.
- To maintain and updated listing of all creditors, monitor outstanding balances, and assist in preparing payments to suppliers.
- To prepare employment- related job letters and other finance – related correspondence as required.
- To assist in conducting reconciliations of payroll, bank accounts, and supplier statements to verify accuracy, resolve discrepancies and ensure financial records are complete.
- To check and verify supplier invoices, supporting documents, and payment requests, ensuring they align with the company policies before processing.
- To adhere to all policies and management system (MS) guidelines.
- To document and communicate threats (perceived/otherwise) or process variances to supervisor/manager.
- To perform tasks related to general housekeeping of assigned work areas.
- To execute all and any additional duties assigned by the supervisor/manager that will facilitate the furtherance of this job description.
To assist, as needed, in the development of all Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality (HSEQ), and Operational Management Systems (MS’s).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a Diploma/Certification in Accounting (ACCA Level 1/2 an asset)
- Must have knowledge of statutory payments and VAT.
- Must be proficient in Peachtree.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related discipline.
