CASHIER – KINGSTON
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cashier to join our Kingston team. The ideal candidate will provide customers with a seamless and efficient shopping experience, while upholding our service standards and values. This role requires integrity, strong numeric and accounting skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and maintain a courteous, customer-centric attitude throughout all transactions.
- Accurately process sales transactions, issue receipts, and return correct change.
- Verify the authenticity of cheques and ensure numerical values match written amounts.
- Balance cash registers and floats at opening and closing; generate daily reports on credit and debit card transactions.
- Adhere to established cash handling and payment processing procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive and efficient work environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- ACCA Level 1 or a Diploma in Accounting or Business Studies.
- Minimum of five (5) CSEC subjects including Mathematics, Principles of Accounts, and English Language.
- At least two (2) years’ experience in a retail sales environment.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and cash handling.
- Working knowledge of accounting software; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work on your own initiative.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- High degree of confidentiality and professional integrity.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
