Position Summary:
The Room Technician in the Maintenance Department is responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs in guest rooms, resident rooms, or facility units. This role ensures all rooms are safe, fully functional, and maintained according to company standards. The technician works closely with the maintenance and housekeeping teams to support the overall condition and upkeep of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect rooms regularly to identify and address maintenance needs.
Perform basic repairs including:
Fixing leaky faucets, running toilets, or loose fixtures
Replacing light bulbs, ceiling tiles, or door hardware
Patching and painting walls or surfaces as needed
Repairing minor electrical or plumbing issues
Respond to maintenance work orders promptly and accurately.
Ensure rooms are fully operational before occupancy or after guest/patient departure.
Assist with preventive maintenance tasks such as filter changes and inspections.
Collaborate with housekeeping staff to ensure seamless room readiness.
Report major issues or hazards to the Maintenance Supervisor immediately.
Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in good working condition.
Ensure compliance with safety policies, building codes, and company procedures.
Log work performed and complete required documentation accurately.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification is a plus.
1–2 years of experience in general maintenance, facilities, or building operations.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve minor maintenance issues independently.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Familiarity with hand and power tools.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or on-call shifts, if needed.
