Laboratory Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking experienced Lab Technicians to join our team. The ideal candidates will have a minimum of five years of experience in hydrocarbon sampling, testing, maintenance, and report documentation. A technician’s diploma in a related laboratory/quality discipline is required, while a B.Sc. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field is considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all client safety regulations, including specific Laboratory Safety Protocols.
• Prepare sample containers/cylinders.
• Draw samples from process equipment.
• Analyze streams and interpret raw data.
• Maintain Laboratory equipment, analyzers, composite samplers, and moisture systems.
• Report results accurately and promptly.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Proficiency in the preparation of sample containers/cylinders, drawing samples, analyzing streams, interpreting raw data, maintaining equipment, and reporting results.
• Familiarity with the latest versions of the following standards/documentation/test methods:
  • ASTM D2597
  • ASTM D6667
  • GPA 2199
  • GPA 2140
  • GPA 2166
  • ASTM D1945
  • ASTM D2163

Qualifications:

• Minimum of five years’ experience in hydrocarbon sampling, testing, maintenance, and report documentation.
• Technician’s diploma in a related laboratory/quality discipline; a B.Sc. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field is an asset.
• Technical competence and strong report writing skills.
