Job Title: Senior Maintenance Engineer (SME)
Job Summary
The Senior Maintenance Engineer (SME) leads and coordinates condition monitoring, inspection, and reliability engineering activities across assigned plants or the Division. This role ensures maintenance performance targets are met in alignment with departmental objectives, safety standards, and asset lifecycle strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of preventive maintenance, condition monitoring, and reliability programs to meet schedule, budget, and technical requirements.
- Support the creation and implementation of maintenance and inspection policies for equipment upgrades, lifecycle planning, and repair/replace decisions.
- Identify and mitigate equipment risks through trend analysis and proactive condition monitoring strategies.
- Prepare and review reliability reports to capture insights and drive implementation of corrective actions.
- Conduct and oversee annual reviews of maintenance plans, inspection programs, and equipment audits to improve future performance.
- Provide expert troubleshooting and root cause analysis for plant equipment issues, recommending timely and effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
- Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities during Turnarounds, Outages, and abnormal situations.
- Perform other duties related to the maintenance and reliability of plant assets as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in a process plant environment.
- Condition Monitoring Inspection certification is considered an asset
- Proven expertise in vibration analysis and rotating equipment diagnostics using handheld and continuous monitoring systems.
- Experience with static equipment inspections (e.g., pressure vessels, piping, tanks, relief systems) and knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards.
