Mechanic
Job Overview
Conduct daily inspection of motor vehicles, forklifts and golf carts for the purpose of ensuring that units are safe to operate. E.g. Road test vehicle
Research for suppliers and parts using equipment Manual for items needed to have units fully operational or be repaired
Operate and drive all types of equipment – motorized and non-motorized
Perform and show competence in preventive maintenance per established schedules on all ground support equipment by performing routine checks and adjustments on such things as fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, and clutches; changes filters and oil, and lubricates vehicles and motor driven equipment.
Remove malfunctioning ground support equipment from service and ensure GSE is not returned to service until malfunction has been properly diagnosed and repaired
Respond to emergency service calls as well as accidents involving ground support equipment
Complete all maintenance/repair documentation consistent with carrier, station, airport authority, municipal, state, federal and SP requirements
Requirements
Certification in auto mechanic from a recognized institution
CXC O’Level Passes including Math and English
Valid Driver’s License
Willingness to work in inclement weather
Flexible to work on various shifts (days, evening, nights, weekends, and holidays)
Ability to read, write and understand and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, policies, procedures and manuals.
