The Stewart’s Automotive Group is seeking a qualified and experienced individual, who is a team player, to fill the post of:
AUTOMOTIVE BODY REPAIR TECHNICIAN
The key duties of this position are as follows:
- Perform all needed automotive body repairs, including, but not limited to (i) dent removal (ii) removal, repair and replacement of damaged parts (iii) alignment of parts (iv) replacement of broken glass and (v) fender repair
- Perform plastic welding to panels (bumper/spare wheel cover, etc.)
- Jack and straighten panels
- Remove and replace panel glass ( door glass/windshield, etc.)
- Buff and compound vehicles
- Disassemble units that sustain major damage and inspect for supplementary damages
- Monitor jobs being worked to ensure that deadlines are met
- To perform welding, soldering, body alignment and oxidizing operations
- To operate all equipment in Body Shop in a safe and productive manger
- To ensure perfect quality of work using workshop facilities
- Review work orders and discuss work to be carried out with supervisor
- Perform visual inspections of damages to vehicles including the outside and undercarriage to determine extent of damage and plan work procedure with Supervisor
- Execute all assignments in compliance with occupational safety and health requirements
Experience, qualifications and competencies required
- Professional certification in auto body repairs
- A minimum of five years’ experience in a similar capacity.
- Excellent knowledge of the automotive industry, motor vehicles and built in technology.
- Must be able to work well in a team-based environment
- Must pay attention to details and produce high quality work, with minimum reworks
- General Driver’s License with a clean driving record
