We are seeking a reliable, experienced, and customer-focused Cashier to join our grocery store team in Kingston, Jamaica.

The ideal candidate will be quick-thinking, accurate with cash handling, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, supporting inventory tasks, and assisting with the day-to-day operations of the store, including opening and closing procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the cash register and process all transactions quickly and accurately

• Provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service

• Handle customer complaints and escalate issues as necessary

• Assist in inventory management, including receiving and restocking products

• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area and assist with general store cleanliness

• Participate in store opening and closing procedures

• Assist other departments as needed (e.g., bagging, stocking)

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a cashier or retail/grocery store role

• Quick thinking and fast, accurate cash-handling skills are essential

• Experience with modern POS (Point of Sale) systems and barcode scanners

• Basic math skills and the ability to balance a cash drawer

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to handle customer concerns calmly and professionally

• Must be punctual, trustworthy, and dependable

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays

• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs if needed
