Job Summary
The Non-Inventory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the procurement, tracking, distribution, and usage of non-inventory items such as packaging materials, tools, safety equipment, and maintenance supplies. This role ensures that all departments have the supplies needed to operate efficiently, while maintaining accurate records and cost control.
Key Functions:
- To ensure the security and quality of the company stocks. Supervise the non-inventory team (buyers, clerks, or coordinators), ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Manage the procurement and replenishment of non-inventory supplies to meet operational needs.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers; negotiate pricing and service level agreements.
- Ensure proper documentation, tracking, and reporting of non-inventory purchases and usage.
- Implement cost-control measures and identify opportunities for savings or efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., operations, facilities, safety) to forecast supply needs and respond to changing demands.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with company policies and safety regulations regarding the use and storage of non-inventory items.
- Use inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Odoo) to track stock levels, generate reports, and analyze usage trends.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy of non-inventory stock records and identify shrinkage or waste.
- Train and develop staff to improve processes and ensure continuous improvement.
Education /Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or warehouse operations.
- At least 1 year of supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with inventory software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
