General Responsibilities
The Senior Account Executive contributes to the growth and maintenance of the business and is responsible for:
- Marketing and business development.
- Managing and expanding the existing insurance portfolio.
- Driving business growth through strategic relationship management.
- Maintenance and retention of the existing business.
- Ensuring exceptional service delivery.
- Management of Accounts Receivables.
- Contributing to the preparation of the income budget.
Relationships
- Reports to the Corporate Manager.
- Collaborates with members of the Executive Team.
- Maintains professional relationships with account executives, technicians, insurers, and clients.
Client Relationship Management
- Manage the insurance portfolio of designated clients, including claims.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of corporate and individual clients.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships, ensuring satisfaction and retention.
- Conduct regular account reviews and coverage assessments.
- Ensure timely communication of rates, terms, and conditions.
- Maintain accurate client files and statistics.
- Ensure client billings are prepared and distributed on time.
- Manage accounts receivables in compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information.
Business Development
- Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities.
- Support new business acquisition, including participating in networking events and preparing tenders.
Insurance Programme Design and Risk Placement
- Analyze client risk exposures and recommend appropriate coverage.
- Prepare, present, and negotiate proposals with underwriters.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of all policy documentation.
- Maintain professional and ethical relationships with insurers.
- Ensure all relevant information is obtained and conveyed when placing risks.
Technical & Compliance
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks.
- Ensure compliance of client records and communications with company and regulatory standards.
- Provide technical guidance to junior team members.
Team Leadership & Mentoring
- Mentor junior staff on client service, negotiation, and technical knowledge.
- Act as a resource for resolving complex account issues.
Education, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field (preferred).
- Relevant insurance licenses as required by jurisdiction.
- Professional designations (e.g., CPCU, CIC, ARM, CRM) are an asset.
- 7–10 years of experience in insurance brokerage account management.
- Proven track record managing mid-to-large corporate accounts.
- Strong underwriting knowledge and carrier relationships.

- Ability to analyze complex risk profiles and recommend solutions.
- Proficiency in insurance management systems (e.g., Applied EPIC preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
