Position Title: Mechanical Technician
Job Summary:
The Mechanical Technician reports to the Service Manager and conducts maintenance and repairs to equipment sold by the company.
Key Responsibilities - Job Functions:
• Route customer service requests to Service Coordinator.
• Disassemble, inspect and repair customer returned items sold by Company either for maintenance, repair or warranty claim.
• Prepare all reports both for the pump shop and seal shop.
• Prepare bills of materials for equipment repairs.
• Attend field service site visits with senior seal technician or senior mechanical technician.
• Maintain all tools and operating equipment used by the Service Department.
• Conduct minor facilities maintenance to the company’s compound as directed by the ESM.
• Champion health and safety when on customer worksites and in the company’s workshop.
• Must complete detailed reports in a timely manner.
• Must complete all necessary paperwork for delivery of items repaired.
HSE Roles & Responsibilities:
• Comply with the OSH Act 2004 and Amendment Act 2006.
• Comply with all ROIL HSE Management System Policies and Procedures.
• Co-operate with supervisors and managers on health and safety matters.
• Do not interfere with systems, procedures or safeguards provided to protect their health and safety.
• Take reasonable care of his/her own health and safety.
• Report all health and safety concerns to the HSE & HR Manager.
• Inform HSE & HR Manager when special waste in your area needs disposing.
• Report any unsafe conditions or practices to your superior and the HSE & HR Manager.
• Observe and comply all safety rules and regulations.
• Know how to perform jobs assigned and perform them properly.
• Not undertaking any job you do not understand. Ask your immediate superior if there are any questions or any doubt.
• Wear/use all safety equipment required by the job to be performed.
• Participate in safety meetings held by your superior.
• Report all injuries immediately to your superior.
• Cooperate with supervisors when injury and accident investigations are being done so that accident causes can be determined and corrective action taken.
• Report any and all defective tools or equipment immediately.

Candidate Profile:
• A’ Level / CAPE/ Management Diploma.
• MEEET or Journeyman certification.
• CXC passes in Math and English.
• Must be proficient in using micrometres, callipers and other precise measuring tools.
• OEM equipment maintenance training.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to be a team player and understand instructions.
• Excellent customer service.
• PC skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Key Deliverables:
• Bills of materials must be prepared within 24 hours of a pump disassembly.
• All jobs must conform to OEM requirements.
• Disassembly and inspection reports must be prepared within 24 hours of disassembly and inspection of equipment.
• Job progression must be tracked until completion of the job.
• Rebuild report must be prepared within 24 hours of completion of pump rebuild.
• Test certification must be prepared within 12 hours of equipment rebuild.
• Pre-delivery checklist must be prepared prior to delivery for all repaired equipment.
