Goddard Catering Group (Jamaica) Ltd., a subsidiary of Goddard Enterprises Limited (GEL), is a member of the GCG Group which operates in 21 countries in the USA, the Caribbean, Central and South America, is seeking to recruit a passionate, skilled and highly motivated individual to join the team in the role of Driver/Customer Service Agent at our Kingston location.
Job Overview:
The Driver will be responsible for delivering meals and other supplies to aircrafts and unloading them efficiently and safely. Your primary duties will involve ensuring timely and accurate transportation while providing excellent service to customer airlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure airline equipment is packed according to specifications for each aircraft type.
- Clean and pack glasses and cutlery in accordance with airline requirements.
- Prepare tray sets following menu specifications.
- Pack and label food trolleys according to airline guidelines.
- Store food trolleys in the refrigerator with doors open, ensuring trolley doors remain closed after removal from the fridge.
- Bag and store ice daily to meet airline demands.
- Take and document temperatures of perishable foods during setup, loading of catering vehicles, and after flight loading.
- Refrigerate meals as per food safety guidelines to ensure items are kept out of the danger zone from setup to check-off.
- Remove used equipment and reload clean equipment safely and swiftly, reviewing any deviations with the onboard crew.
- Verify that all necessary items are loaded onto the truck before departure, ensuring correct quantities as per airline specifications.
- Maintain accessibility, responsiveness, and good communication with the customer, ensuring a professional appearance at all times.
- Follow all safety rules during transportation to and from the aircraft, reporting accidents immediately to management.
- Perform any other related duties as directed by the Operations Manager/Operations Supervisors.
Qualifications:
- A Diploma from a recognized institution.
- Knowledge of Inventory Management will be an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, communications and analytical skills.
- General driver’s license (minimum weight 4,000 kgs or 8,000 lbs).
- The ability to work flexible hours – public holidays and weekends.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent team player.
