Inventory & Warehouse Associate
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Inventory & Warehouse Associate to play a vital role in the efficient handling of our inventory and the smooth operation of our warehouse. This position involves a blend of hands-on warehouse duties and meticulous inventory control, ensuring accuracy and contributing to our overall operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player with a strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining organized and safe warehouse practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately process and record all inventory movements, including incoming shipments, outgoing orders, and internal transfers, ensuring data integrity.
- Efficiently issue and receive materials and goods, verifying quantities and condition against relevant documentation.
- Conduct regular and accurate cycle counts and physical inventory audits to reconcile discrepancies and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and propose solutions, escalating complex issues to the supervisor as needed.
- Proactively monitor inventory levels and generate timely reports for items approaching reorder points to prevent stockouts.
- Meticulously document and report any damaged, missing, or non-conforming inventory items to the supervisor, following established procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and storage environment, adhering to all safety regulations and best practices.
- Safely and efficiently operate a forklift (if certified) to load and unload goods and organize warehouse stock.
- Perform manual lifting of items weighing up to 25-30 KG, adhering to proper lifting techniques and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with team members across departments to ensure seamless inventory flow and address any warehouse-related needs.
- Provide excellent internal customer service by responding promptly and professionally to inquiries and requests related to inventory and warehouse operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Successful completion of High School Diploma with passes in English Language and Mathematics or another quantitative subject.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly convey information and interact professionally.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including data entry and inventory management software.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative member of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
Preferred Assets:
- Valid Jamaican driver’s license.
- Certification and proven experience operating a forklift.
- Experience in a warehousing and inventory management environment.
Consideration will also be given to candidates with an equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant experience.
