The Driver is responsible for operating vehicles to transport goods, people, documents and other items and also assists in the coordination of functions. The job holder is also responsible for the timely delivery of correspondences.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

ü  A General Driver’s License with a minimum weight of 7000 kg

ü  NVQ-J Level 2 in Automotive Operation and Basic Maintenance or the equivalent

ü  At least three (3) years relevant work experience in a comparable position in a business/work environment such as a transportation service company

KEY COMPETENCIES:

ü  Knowledge of Defensive Driving

ü  Flexibility

KEY DUTIES:

ü  Follows transport capacity limitations and ensures personnel use protective restraints

ü  Follows approved routes and speed limits

ü  Transports personnel, to ensure the safety of personnel, the vehicle, other vehicles, equipment, material and supplies and the surrounding environment

ü  Transports personnel, equipment, material and supplies according to plan within the operating capacity of the vehicle

ü  Transports personnel, equipment and material at authorised times according to schedule

ü  Makes bank deposits and pay utility bills

ü  Requests routine vehicle maintenance and servicing

ü  Carries out routine vehicle checks

ü  Dispatches documents/correspondents daily or as required

ü  Submits Advance Card Reconciliation and Vehicle Log Report on a monthly basis

ü  Maintains documentation of removal of assets and delivery of goods

ü  Assists with assembling of audio-visual equipment

ü  Promptly reports all accident and damage to the vehicle
