The Blinds Room Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end operations of the Blinds Production Department. This includes managing fabrication, coordinating installations, maintaining high quality standards, supervising staff, ensuring timely project execution, and controlling inventory.
The role requires a blend of operational expertise, leadership, quality control, and cross-functional coordination to ensure that products are manufactured and delivered to the highest standard of excellence.
This position plays a pivotal role in driving customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement within the department.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Oversight
- Lead and supervise all aspects of blinds fabrication, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to design specifications.
- Optimize production schedules to meet project timelines and sales commitments.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste and increase throughput.
- Ensure all production machinery and tools are maintained and operational.
2. Installation Management- Plan and coordinate installation schedules in collaboration with the Project Coordination and Sales teams.
- Ensure installation teams are properly prepared with the right products, tools, and site information.
- Monitor on-site performance and customer satisfaction post-installation.
- Address and resolve installation challenges in a timely and professional manner.
3. Quality Assurance- Establish and maintain strict quality control standards across the entire production and installation process.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits to verify product quality and finish.
- Investigate customer complaints or issues related to defects or installation, and implement corrective actions.
- Foster a culture of excellence and accountability in workmanship.
4. Human Resource Leadership- Lead, train, and develop the blinds room team to meet performance goals and maintain high morale.
- Manage staff schedules, attendance, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and set clear KPIs for production and installation staff.
- Encourage cross-training and succession planning within the department.
5. Project Coordination- Act as the central point of coordination for blinds-related projects, from production to final installation.
- Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, and Warehouse teams to ensure seamless execution.
- Track and report on project progress, timelines, risks, and resource needs.
- Proactively flag and manage delays, bottlenecks, or material shortages.
6. Inventory Management- Monitor and manage blinds materials, components, and finished goods inventory.
- Ensure materials are ordered in a timely manner to meet production schedules without overstocking.
- Maintain accurate stock records and investigate discrepancies.
- Support procurement planning with usage reports and forecasting.
Leadership & Reporting- Report regularly to senior leadership on production performance, project status, quality issues, and staffing needs.
- Participate in strategic planning for the growth and efficiency of the department.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of responsibility.
Qualifications & Experience- Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing or production management, preferably in blinds or home furnishings.
- Proven leadership in team supervision, operational planning, and project execution.
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes, tools, and materials used in blinds production.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with inventory systems and project coordination tools.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and lead by example.
Working Conditions- Full-time, on-site position within a fast-paced production environment.
- May involve extended hours to meet critical deadlines or during peak project periods.
- Requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including Sales, Warehouse, and Installers.
